el quinto libro de Harry Potter

(in English after the photos)

I’m walking through the streets of Warsaw and everything is full of places to eat and drink, just like in Lisbon, Hamburg or Madrid. On John Paul II Street there’s a strip club that’s open every day from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., every single day, even on Sundays. Across from the central train station there are 3 kebab shops, one next to the other, and one next to the other, and the other.

I decide to go see the Belarusian bookshops in Warsaw. The first one I visit is called Bukinistka, the second Knihauka. I talk to the booksellers, and one of them tells me that at Christmas the fifth Harry Potter book will be published in Belarusian for the first time, and that the translator lives very close by.

I used to love reading the Harry Potter books before going to sleep, and I remember some nights when I couldn’t close the book and stayed up very late.
